According to Michelin's 2020 financial report on global tire production and sales statistics, in 2020, the total global tire sales of about 1.577 billion, down about 11.7 percent year-on-year. Among them, the sales volume of supporting tires in the market was about 0.399 billion, down about 14.7 percent from the same period last year. The global replacement tire market sold about 1.178 billion tires, down about 10.6 percent from the same period last year.
Passenger car tires fall across the board
In the passenger car tire market, whether it is the original market or the replacement market, there has been a double-digit decline. The original market fell by about 17% year-on-year, and the replacement market fell by about 11% year-on-year.

Among them, in Central and North America, the original passenger car market fell by about 21% and the replacement market fell by about 9%. In South America, the original passenger car market fell by about 31% and the replacement market fell by about 22%. In Central and Western Europe, the original passenger car market fell by about 23% and the replacement market fell by about 11%.
In Eastern Europe, the original passenger car market fell by about 15% and the replacement market fell by about 14%. In Africa, India and the Middle East, the original passenger car market fell by about 23% and the replacement market fell by about 17%. In China, the original passenger car market fell by about 4% and the replacement market fell by about 6%. In Asia outside China and India, the original passenger car market fell by about 18% and the replacement market fell by about 12%.
Truck and bus tires increase slightly
In the global truck and bus tire market, the original distribution market increased slightly by about 1% year-on-year, and the replacement market could not escape the fate of decline, down about 10% year-on-year.
Among them, in Central and North America, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 28% and the replacement market fell by about 3%. In South America, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 17% and the replacement market fell by about 10%.

In Central and Western Europe, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 18% and the replacement market fell by about 5%; in Eastern Europe, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 6%, and the replacement market was almost unchanged from 2019.
In Africa, India and the Middle East, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 48% and the replacement market fell by about 15%. In China, the original truck and bus distribution market soared by about 33% and the replacement market dropped by about 11%. In Asia outside China and India, the original truck and bus distribution market fell by about 28% and the replacement market fell by about 13%.
